Because the World Needs Real Guitar Stores: 2 Years of Roxy Music
Two Years In: A Heartfelt Thank You from Roxy Music
A lot can happen in two years.
Today marks two years since we became the owners of Roxy Music—and what a journey it’s been. Two years might sound like a long time, but honestly, it feels like we blinked. When we stepped into this role, we were full of hope, excitement, and a thousand ideas. The horizon felt wide open. And now, we find ourselves looking back with gratitude.
We're still here. We're still learning. We're still building something we believe in. And we’re more committed than ever to making Roxy Music the go-to independent music store in Northern Indiana.
What We’ve Built Together
Over the past two years, we’ve launched a brand-new website and learned more about SEO and design than we ever imagined. We completely overhauled our lesson program, making it easier for families to schedule and reschedule lessons. We’ve hosted four student concerts—each one bigger, louder, and more inspiring than the last.
We repainted nearly the entire building, remodeled the bathroom, reworked our store layout, and built a dedicated drum department. All of it was done with our customers and community in mind.
The Dream: A Destination for Musicians
We want Roxy Music to be more than a music store. We want it to be a destination—a place where musicians feel inspired, understood, and at home.
Because the world needs real guitar stores.
If it’s been a while since your last visit—or if you’ve never stopped in—we’d love to see you. Come in. Grab a cup of coffee. Let’s talk music—gear, gigs, dreams, struggles… whatever’s on your mind.
Community and Celebration
Along the way, we’ve said goodbye to two legends who helped shape Roxy Music—Bill Heiss and Jesse Scutchfield. Their impact still echoes through this store. At the same time, we’ve welcomed so many new faces and friends into the Roxy family—customers, students, parents, and musicians who believe in what we’re building.
Behind the Scenes
Our team works hard behind the scenes too. Every guitar that leaves our repair bench is custom set up with care—because we believe every player deserves gear that inspires confidence.
Family Behind the Scenes
We also wouldn’t be here without the help of our family. Our kids have stepped in—sometimes at a moment’s notice—to paint walls, clean up, receive shipments, stock shelves, design parts of the website, and tackle whatever else needed to be done. They’ve learned right alongside us and carried a lot of weight during this journey.
Our parents have been quietly holding things together behind the scenes—helping with the books, offering wisdom, and showing up with encouragement and hard work when most people would’ve just watched from the sidelines. Their support has been steady, sacrificial, and something we’ll never take for granted.
Owning a store like this isn’t just about the business—it’s about the people who make it possible. And we’re incredibly grateful for the family who’s been in our corner every step of the way.
Thank You
We have an incredible team here at Roxy Music. They care deeply. Every day, they show up with a passion to help people grow, to offer great instruments, to fix what’s broken, and to make sure every customer leaves feeling better than when they walked in.
But beyond the gear and programs, we’re working toward something bigger: we want to give you the best customer service in the industry—and create the kind of store musicians actually get excited about.
Our team has walked through every high and low of the past two years with grit, grace, and a whole lot of heart—and I couldn’t be more grateful for each one of them.
And we’re grateful for you, too—for every customer, student, parent, and player who’s come through our doors and helped us keep this legacy alive.
You keep coming back. You tell your friends. You support your local music store. And that means more than you probably realize.
Here’s to two years.
Here’s to all of you.
And here’s to the music still to come.
With gratitude,
Ken & Heidi
